Coming off of a loss last Friday night to Canyon View and with Emery waiting for them, the Carbon Dinos were on the road in Richfield Wednesday night to face the Wildcats.  The Wildcats just had back to back wins against Emery and Grand. It is well known that Richfield is always a tough place to get a win, but the Dinos did just that 63-55.

The Wildcats hold a 6-9 record and sit in the No. 14 spot in the RPI rankings for 3A. Led all season by 6’7″ senior Connor Holroyd, who had 12 in the game, Richfield has compiled wins against Delta, South Sevier, Piute and Kanab as well.

The Dinos came out in the first half and kept things close going into halftime down 28-25. In the second half Carbon kept the pace with Richfield, but in the fourth the Dinos took the game over scoring 24 with 11 coming from the charity stripe. More impressively they held the Wildcats to just 15 points in the quarter to seal the win.

Carbon holds a 6-8 record with just six games left on the schedule, two with Emery and re-matches with Grand, Canyon View and Richfield, plus a non-region game with Manti, the Dinos could make some noise and move up in the RPI from where they sit now at No. 15. Up next is a home game with the Emery Spartans.

The Spartans will enter the contest at 4-10 and No. 16. Coming off a victory over Canyon View last Friday. Emery is being led this season by sophomore Luke Justice who is averaging just under 11 points per game.
