Wednesday night USU Eastern is looking to “Pack the BDAC” for Fan Appreciation Night as the College of Southern Idaho comes to town.  It is always a great game whenever these teams get together on the basketball court and with free admission for everyone, the Eagles are looking to fill the BDAC to capacity.

The evening will begin when doors open at 4 p.m., and there will be a free dinner and stadium cup for the first 100 fans at each game. There will also be free popcorn and soda as well as giveaways during the games.

The ladies will get things started first with a 5 p.m. tip-off, followed by the men at 7.

This will be the second time this season USU Eastern and CSI have met on the floor. For the ladies, back on Jan 3 they suffered a 67-55 loss at home. The men held court back on Dec. 1, winning 82-76.

The Lady Eagles enter the contest Wednesday night with a 10-11 record, going 6-5 in conference. Coming off a big win over Community Christian College last Saturday 93-46, Coach Chelsey Warburton told us that the team is starting to gel at the right time.

“There was a whole month there where we didn’t get a lot of five-on-five interaction, like in practice, just from numbers for multiple reasons. So we’re finally getting back on the court, getting those postponed games back in, and getting our confidence back and the flow together, again we’re just excited that we do get to play basketball, it has been a unique year for us, but I think that every team has gone through ups and downs.”

The men’s team is sitting at 15-8 with a 7-5 conference record, they were suffering through a streak where they had lost their last three and the came up with a big win over Community Christian 79-46, in front of the home crowd. Coach Bill Evans talked about the benefits of having a full gym when taking on teams like CSI, who is ranked in the top ten nationally.

“I think that anytime you have community support, and we have community support, don’t misunderstand me, but this will be a little bit different situation with Fan Appreciation Night”, but no question when you’ve got a bunch of people in the stands and they’re yelling for your team, it’s always really beneficial.”
