Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Franklin Zupon passed away peacefully on February 14, 2022, at Castleview Hospital. He was 78.
Franklin was born October 1, 1943 in Price, Utah to Frank and Rose Columbo Zupon. He married Shirley Pretiger on August 15, 1964 at Notre Dame Catholic Church.
He was a graduate of Carbon High School’s Class of 1961. Franklin enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country in Germany from 1968-70.
Franklin worked hard and played hard. He was owner/operator of Zupon’s Paint & Body Shop for over 40 years where he poured his heart and soul into his work. Outside of work, Franklin had numerous hobbies. His love for fishing at Flaming Gorge was second to none, snagging many record-breaking fish. He was on the state champion trap-shooting team.
Franklin had a love for restoring old cars, trucks and John Deere tractors. When hunting season came around, he was the first one on the mountain and the last one off.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Frankie (Steven) Oberto; grandson, Ryker; sister, Vivian (John) Bon; numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Kenneth; and his special dog, Pete.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gagon, Dr. Pressett, the staff at Castleview Hospital and Symbii Home Health and Hospice.
Franklin’s family takes comfort in knowing that he is now pain free and at peace.
