The Emery Lady Spartans delivered their best round of team golf this season as they finished second overall at Monday’s Region 12 meet at the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield.

The Richfield Wildcats remained unbeaten at the top of the leaderboard as they accumulated a team best 346. Cheyenne Bingham led the Lady Spartans with a season low round of 99 as they finished second with a 430, followed by Canyon View in third.

Kimber Gilbert continued her steady play on the course as she ended second on the team with a 101. Trin Nielson was next with a 113 and Maggie Lindsay gave the team its fourth score at 117.

The Carbon Dinos were unable to compete in the team category as they traveled just three golfers, missing the minimum of four. Carley West produced the top individual score for the Lady Dinos as she finished with a 101. Grace Simms shot a 113 and Savanna Rasmussen a 118.

With the conclusion of Monday’s meet the Region 12 teams will now enter a lengthy break. There will be no competition next week and only two remain on the schedule ahead of the state championship on May 11 and 12.

The next schedule meet will take place Thursday, April 21 at the Carbon Country Club golf course. The following week the teams will have an opportunity to compete at Oquirrh Hills, the homesite of the 3A State Championship.
