Arthur Duane Johnson returned home to his Heavenly Father on May 16, 2022 surrounded by his cherished family.
Duane was born on December 16, 1951 in Price, Utah to Val and June Johnson. He enjoyed a life of learning and graduated from Carbon High School where he met the great love of his life, Linda. They were married November 21, 1970 and later sealed in the Manti Utah Temple.
Duane studied electronics and electrical earning an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Utah Technical College. He inspired many with his vast knowledge as he worked as a repairman, dispatcher, EMT, and electronic technician; many times, fixing things no one else could. Not only did he have an extensive secular knowledge, but his testimony of Jesus Christ was powerful; blessing the lives of those he served through his many church callings.
Duane was a very kindhearted, loving, and gentle soul. He was soft spoken, but his words were powerful; filled with the kind of wisdom that only comes from years and years of study and life. He always had a burning desire to teach others His knowledge. Before there was Google he was “Mr. Google;” friends far and wide called Duane for his expertise on anything and everything. He was an expert in Ham radio and had a passion for flying and building RC airplanes. Duane was a master gardener and herbalist. He was an avid bow hunter and loved to camp and fish with his family.
Survived by his sweetheart, Linda Marx Johnson; children, Kimberly (Curtis) Cook, Ontario, Canada, Melinda (Ryan) Monson, Price, Utah, Lianne (Christopher) Sjostrom, Missoula, Montana, Kevin (Donnette) Johnson, Wellington, Utah, Connie (Casey) Ware, Price, Utah, David (Mikell) Johnson, Price, Utah; 23 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Randy Val (Dora) Johnson, Larry Scott (Coreena) Johnson, Donna June (Donald) Francisco, Terry Alan (Cherilyn) Johnson, Julie Ann (Gordon) Mathis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
