4h-programs

The USU Extension Office – Carbon County is gearing up for their summer 4-H programs and are inviting children to come participate in the summer clubs. Coordinator, DeLayna Barr stopped by Castle Country Radio to share all the wonderful details of the summer programs.

“We are going to have a Babysitting Course, which is not just going to be come and learn how to make clay-doh, it is CPR, you’re going to get a certificate, so that parents will know that these kids are ready to be a babysitter and keep their kids safe,” stated Barr. This course will be offered on June 7, 9, 14 and 15 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm and the cost is $25.00. This would be a great program for students to learn CPR and other safety precautions so that they can babysit safely for family and friends.

Scheduled to take place this year is a Drone Camp which has become a very popular activity.  “We’re going to have a Drone Camp, it’s a two-day camp and we have it with Shawn Barstow from USU-Eastern with the Aggie Drone Academy. The cost is $53.00, but you’ll get lunch and take home your drone. So that’s gong to be really fun for kids who are really excited about that club,” said Barr. The camp will be offered on June 29 and 30 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on the campus of USU-Eastern.

If parents would like to sign up their child for the 4-H programs they can do so online. “Well, you get on https://4h.zsuite.org/ and so its $10.00 to be a membership, which kind of covers your insurance and keeps yours kids safe and then you’re open to state events, region events and county events,” said Barr.
