Every year at the end of each sport season the Deseret News releases the list of players that are voted on by the coaches throughout each of the state of Utah’s six classifications. This year the Carbon Dinos had five players and the Emery Spartans had a pair of players that earned the All-State honor in baseball.

For the Dinos, senior pitcher and utility player, Jordan Fossat earned a first team nod. Fossat sported a .379 batting average to go with eight doubles and 17 RBI’s this season. Last year Fossat was named to the second team.

Junior Colton Lowe, an outfielder and pitcher for Carbon, landed on the second team list putting up a .465 BA to go along with a .596 on-base-percentage and collected two home runs this season. Lowe also led the Dinos this season with 27 RBI’s in just 15 games, and was named Region 12 MVP.

Rylan Hart landed on the second team this season after getting a first team nod last year. Hart, a senior, played short stop and pitched for the Dinos. Rylan put up a .354 BA and a .480 OBP with a pair of home runs.

Keaton Rich earned a second team spot this year after two seasons (2019, 2021) of Honorable Mentions. Rich is another senior off of the Carbon squad and played outfield and pitched. Rich ended the year with a .395 BA and a .671 slugging percentage. On the mound Rich posted a 3,97 earned run average.

Jacob Vasquez ended his season with an Honorable Mention. Vasquez, a senior pitcher and catcher for Carbon had a .371 BA along with a .482 OBP. Behind the plate he posted a .932 fielding percentage.

For the Emery Spartans, Wade Stilson, a sophomore short stop, received a first team nod with a .533 BA to go with his 40 hits. Stilson posted 27 runs and 22 RBI’s with a .692 SLP.

Gannon Ward the junior center fielder for the Spartans earned an Honorable Mention with a .500 BA with a .537 OBP, adding 14 stolen bases and two home runs. Defensively, Ward had a .973 FP, that led Emery.

The 3A Player of the year was senior Tyler Easter from Juan Diego.
