The Region 12 golf season shifted to Millsite, home course of the Emery Spartans, this past Thursday as all five schools competed in the final competition ahead of Wednesday’s regular season finale.
An intense battle ended in favor of the Richfield Wildcats as they topped the Carbon Dinos by just four strokes with a 290. The Emery Spartans finished third with a 319, ten strokes better than fourth place Grand. Canyon View rounded out the field in last.
Carbon senior Bode Salas continued to pace the entire region as he finished with a 64, leading the Dinos to a second-place finish. Richfield’s Gage Brower was a distant second to Salas as he shot a 69.
Kyler Clark’s 75 provided Carbon with a solid second score, while Daron Garner was third with a 76. The fourth score went to Rydge Butler, who has become a top-four mainstay for the Dinos the second half of the season.
Carter Huntington led Emery as he shot a 75. Kade Larsen helped push a second-place finish for Emery with a 78. Joey Leonard continued his steady play with an 81, while Dempsey Toomer’s 85 rounded out the top four for the Spartans.
