Lady Dinos tennis came to play this year. Finishing the season 8-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in Region 12 play, then topping it off with a first place finish at the region tournament in Richfield last week, Carbon tennis is preparing for the 3A State Championships that begin on Thursday at Liberty Park in Salt Lake.

Carbon cut through the competition at the Region 12 Tournament with Lindsie Snow in first singles and Lizzy Blackburn in second singles claiming final victories.

Snow, who has put together quite and impressive season, earned the top spot in first singles in Region 12 by defeating Stella McGowan of Richfield 6-0 and 6-1.

In second singles, Lizzy Blackburn who put together a successful season in her own right, defeated Harper Smith of Richfield 7-5 and 6-3 to win the top spot.

Ella Anderson made it to the finals in third singles but unfortunately dropped her finals match to Richfield’s Sarah Purkey, 6-3 and 7-6 (7-5)

In doubles, the teams of Isadora Netto and Hannah Luddington in first singles and Lyndie Richardson and Audrey Hatch in second doubles both finished tournament play with a record of 2-1.

All of Carbon’s teams will advance to play at the 3A State Championships, that will begin on Thursday and finish on Saturday.

All matches will be played at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City.
