Our dearest beloved wife, mother and grandmother; Ruth Alane (Adams) Burnett, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 8, 2022, in Grand Junction, Colorado, due to complications of acute leukemia.

Ruth was born to Lyman P. and Verla Neoma (Hale) Adams in Rupert, Idaho, on February 6th, 1954. She was the second youngest of 10 siblings. She graduated from Oakley High School in 1972. After high school she moved to Salt Lake City where she went on a blind date and met the love of her life, Steven Garth Burnett. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 26, 1978. They then moved to Garth’s hometown of Green River, Utah and had three children. Sarah, Steven and Michael Burnett.

Ruth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She had a very loving and compassionate heart especially for all her grandchildren, whom she was always proud of: Emma Jo, Gracie, Genevieve, A’niya, Aaliyah, Zeruiah and Elicio. She always beamed with joy when they were around her.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Garth; daughter, Sarah: two sons, Steven, and Michael (Jeni) Burnett: seven grandchildren; 5 brothers, Dennis, Ellis, Keith, Lyman (Maggie), Arlen (Shirlene) Adams; 3 sisters, Gayla Jones, Ann (Tony) Apa and Mary Carol Goble.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Lyman P. and Verla Adams and her eldest sister, Verlene Powell. brothers-in-law Howard Jones, Howard Burnett, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Vae Burnett.

Services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, 11 a.m., at the Green River LDS Ward Chapel (95 N. Clark St, Green River, Utah 84525: parking on the west side). The family will receive friends 9 a.m.-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Graveside service will follow in the Elgin Cemetery, Green River, Utah. A luncheon will be provided in the Green River LDS Ward (gym) at 1 p.m.
