The United Way of Eastern Utah is currently accepting Angel Tree Applications now through Nov. 17. Any families who are in need of assistance with Christmas this year are urged to apply before the deadline. Director, Pam Boyd stopped by Castle Country Radio to discuss the application process.
“Well, the applications are available at our office which is at room 105 at Price City Hall and the office is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But if we’re not there those applications are in a folder on our front door, you can’t miss them, so just grab those. We are asking them to be completed applications to be turned in by Thursday, Nov. 17,” said Boyd. The Price City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm so you can pick up an application during that time their building is open.
It is important that applications are received on or before Nov. 17 due to the time restraints in preparing the database with all of the participants’ information. “Now the application itself really explains everything that you need. There’s a list of accompanying information that you need – you need an I.D., some financial information, and the application itself gives you the opportunity to list kids, to list the sizes that they are, list some of their wishes for Christmas. You know if a kid needs a coat or shoes, all of those things are included on the application,” stated Boyd. Its imperative that the application is completed accurately in order for it to be processed in a timely manner. Incorrect or partially completed applications will not be processed.
Angel Trees should be up and around town near the Thanksgiving holiday and this year there will be a few Angel Trees set up in the Children Justice Center Christmas Tree Regalia event on Main Street. “We’re excited the Angel Trees will be available at the great community event and it’s really a wonderful way to spend the holiday. Because Christmas isn’t about getting as much as it is about giving and it’s a great opportunity,” said Boyd.
If anyone has any questions about the application process, they are urged to call the United Way of Eastern Utah office on Tuesdays or Thursdays at (435) 637-8911 or they may email the office at liveunited@uweu.org
