holiday-market

The Christmas Treasures Holiday Market will be taking place on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Carbon High School from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is an annual event that benefits the Carbon Christmas Program. Castle Country Radio was able to speak over the telephone with Market Coordinator, Kari Richardson to get all the details.

“So this market that we are doing for the high school, it’s our fifteenth year, and this one I kind of started on my own because we didn’t have one in Price and so we thought it would be a good idea and we love doing it so we’re still doing it,” explained Richardson. This event is open to the public and the cost for admission is $.50 per person, which enters individuals into hourly giveaways. The giveaways have been donated by the vendors participating in the market. All the admission funds will go to help the Carbon Christmas Program that the school hosts every year.

The event will take place at Carbon High School located at 750 East 400 North. “You’ll come in, it’ll be in the halls, it’ll be in Grand Canyon, and it will be in the gym. We’ll have over 60 booths and so there will be something around every corner for you to see and to love. We will have Christmas goodies; we’ll have our cheeseballs that we have every year. We’ll have crafts, we’ll have gifts, we’ll have candles, home décor. We’ll even have some clothing booths and some furniture booths,” stated Richardson. Individuals can go shopping for unique, one-of-a-kind items from local crafters. There will be food items available to purchase from Dee’s Kitchen and Getting’ Our Smoke On.

Not only will guests be able to enjoy some Christmas shopping, but they can enjoy the live entertainment that is scheduled to take place throughout the day. “We have several groups that are going to be entertaining for us all day. We’ll have the Non-Stop Dance Company, we’ll have cheerleaders, and we’ll have a local gymnastics team. We’ll have our Senior Silver Steppers Group. We have Joshlyn Sanders is a young girl who sings for us, and her voice is beautiful. So even if you just come out to watch the entertainment, we would love to have you and it will be very entertaining this year,” said Richardson. There will also be an opportunity to visit with Santa from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm and you can get a picture taken with him for $3.00. Again, profits from the Santa pictures will go towards the Carbon Christmas Program.
