Coming off back-to-back losses the Dinos were looking to turn turn the tide on Wednesday night when they welcomed the South Summit Wildacats to Price. Tied after the first half, South Summit came out in the second half and quietly outscored the Dinos in both quarters, taking the 69-61 win.
The Dinos had returned from a tournament over the weekend where they faced two teams with state championship aspirations: Enterprise and Grantsville falling in both contests and suffering their first losses of the season. South Summit is a perfect 4-0.
Carbon let the Wildcats get off to a 14-8 lead in the first quarter, but came out firing in the second putting up 23 and tying things up at 31 headed in to the locker room.
In the second half, the Wildcats quietly and methodically put themselves in position to take the win, outscoring the Dinos by three in the third and five in the fourth as Carbon shot 43% from the field in the contest and went 8-of-12 from the charity stripe.
Ashton Ferguson led the Dinos with 14 points and six rebounds. Brax Stevenson put up 13 with five boards and four assists and Cole Cripps dropped 10 with two steals and two assists.
