Chrystal Zamantakis Kogianes, our beloved wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma passed away on December 6, 2022 at the age of 86.

Chrys was born on June 20, 1936 to Steve Zamantakis and Irene Kyriakakis in Price, Utah. She grew up in Price where she was a member of the Baton Twirling team and the Greek choir. She was proud to be a Carbon Dino and loved watching the Utes play football.

She married her lifetime love, Sam G. Kogianes on September 21, 1958. Together they shared 64 memorable years. They had two children, Sam Jr. and Irene, and while the two of them kept her on her toes—she loved and adored them.

Chrys worked for Utah State in various departments for 40 years and retired as a Corrections Officer at the Department of Corrections. Chrys had a great love for her Greek heritage and was very proud of it. She enjoyed cooking Greek dishes, Greek music, watching Greek cooking shows and was notorious for her dolmades and delicious Greek pastries that she loved to share. She enjoyed gardening, picking asparagus in the spring and had beautiful rose bushes. Most of all, she cherished her family and being a grandma.
