The new year is bringing some great USU Extension classes beginning in January 2023. The Castle Country Gardens & Landscapes for Beginners will begin on January 11 and run once a month till May. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with USU Extension’s Rowe Zwahlen to get all the details.
“We’re calling it a beginner’s class but really any skill level is welcomed to come join us. From very beginners to people that have been doing gardening for a long time. One of my favorite classes to teach, we’ve got a good schedule coming up. So it’s once a month, but we have some topics that we’re going to be doing seed starting, fruit trees. Steve’s going to be talk about insects, whether they are friends or foes, and how to tell the difference. We’re going to talk about food scaping, so using edible plants in your landscape, and then water wise landscapes,” said Zwahlen.
The courses will be held at the USU Eastern Campus inside the Reeves Building, Room 122 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The schedule is as follows:
Jan. 11 Seed Starting
Feb. 15 Fruit Trees
Mar. 8 Insect Friends & Foes
Apr. 12 Food Scaping
