Pinnacle has made it to this point in the season without taking a region loss, that changed on Tuesday night in Monticello when the Panthers had a letdown in the second quarter only scoring two points and couldn’t quite come back from it falling, 48-36.

The Panthers now have an overall record of 13-6 with a 3-1 region mark, they also hold the No. 11 spot in the 1A RPI and now have just four games left before the end of the season.

On Tuesday night, Pinnnacle jumped out in the first quarter with nine points holding Monticello to two points, however, the second quarter would turn things around. The Buckaroo came out and put 18 points on the board in the quarter as the Panthers could only score a pair and would go into the locker room down 20-11.

In the third, both teams would continue battling back and forth as Pinnacle would outscore Monticello 13 -11 and would cut the Buckaroo lead to 31-24. In the fourth and final quarter, Monticello would regain control putting the game out of the Panthers reach, taking the 48-36 win.

Cole Barton would lead the Panthers with 14 points and six rebounds. Brody Howell added seven with four boards and Ryker Howell and Joey Howell each scored five with Ryker grabbing four boards. Jonathan Kessler had seven rebounds and added seven assists.

Pinnacle is back on the floor Friday when they welcome Monument Valley (4-11, 0-4, No. 16).
