Ruth Waterfield Ardohain passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023, at Castleview Hospital after a short illness. She was 98.

Ruth was born to Samuel and Eugenia (Denison) Waterfield on November 1, 1924, in Kenilworth, Utah.

She was the loving wife of Peter B. Ardohain. They met at the ice-skating rink next to the golf course. He was the love of her life. They married on March 31, 1946; Pete passed away January 20, 2007.

Mom worked 32 years for J.C. Penney in ladies’ apparel in Price. She played cards weekly (Pinochle and Shanghai Rummy). Mom resided at Heirloom Inn in Price the last four years where she played Shanghai Rummy with other residents almost daily and played Bingo three days a week after lunch. While living at home, mom took great pride in her yard, flowers and roses. Mom loved trips to Flaming Gorge, camping and boating with her family. Mom also enjoyed trips to California, Arizona, and Maine to visit her daughter and son-in-law. Mom enjoyed golf and bowled many years on leagues, mixed doubles, and traveled to other areas to bowl with her league. Mom enjoyed picking vegetables that they planted and was a member of the Country Club and Good Sam’s Club.

Mom is survived by her children, Jeanne (George) Smith, Price, Dennis (Judy) Ardohain, Price; grandchildren, Pete (Tammy) Ardohain, Price, Michele (Mike) Huff, Price, Kris (Krista) Ardohain, Nephi, Denise (Tony) Collins, Helper; great-grandchildren, Reese and Aleece Ardohain, Brodee and Dallen Collins, Raiden Huff, Kade, Kaiya, and Kort Ardohain.

Above all else, mom’s favorite time was the time she spent with her family. She will be missed greatly.

Preceded in death by her husband, Peter B. Ardohain; parents, Samuel and Eugenia Waterfield; sisters, Ada (Ken) Bulloch, Lomay (Marvin) Hawks, Josephine (Max) Watkins; brother, Samuel (Avalon) Waterfield.

Funeral service, Friday, February 10, 2023, 1:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home in Price where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery in Price.
