The Pinnacle boys squad has had a very successful 2022-2023 campaign. Starting out by winning a school record seven in a row they are currently holding the No. 10 spot in the 1A RPI. Last Friday night, the Monument Valley Cougars came to town and were shown the exit by the Panthers who would earn the 61-49 victory in front of the home crowd.

Pinnacle has collected 14 wins this season against six losses, but more importantly they carry a 4-1 region record and sit in second place behind Monticello, who has yet to lose a region contest.

Against Monument Valley, the first quarter was quiet for the Panthers as they only put up nine, they must have been saving it for the second quarter as they went off for 22, taking a 31-18 lead into the locker room.

In the second half Pinnacle would carry on into the third, putting up 11 and then another 19 in the fourth quarter capturing the 61-49 win.

Cole Barton scored 22 points, grabbing eight boards and three steals. Ryker Howell was one rebound short of a double-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Jonathan Kessler put up eight points and came down with six rebounds and nine assists. Brody Howell led the Panthers with 13 boards in the win.

The Panthers are back on their home floor Friday, when they welcome the Whitehorse Raiders to Price. On January 20, Pinnacle was traveled to take on the Raiders, taking the 68-59 win.

Game time is set for 7 p.m..
