After a couple of games that were canceled because of weather the Carbon boy’s soccer team finally got on the field when they welcomed fellow Region 12 member the Canyon View Falcons.  Carbon had balance scoring as they scored one goal in the first half and another in the second to take the 2-0 win, starting the season off 1-0 overall and in region play.

Last season Carbon went 9-6 overall which included a 7-1 Region 12 mark landing them a region championship, and a first round bye. In the second round of the 3A State Championships they fell to Juan Diego 6-0.

In the early moments of the contest both teams had their defense on display until the 17th minute when Connor Cunningham found the back of the net to put the Dinos up 1-0, Carbon would carry the lead into the locker room at half time.

The opening of the second half was a copy of the first, as the defense of both teams slowed each other down and kept each other off of the board. In the 64th minute, Tyler Morris would sneak one past the Canyon View goalie to put the Dinos up 2-0. A late shot on goal by the Falcons was saved by Carbon goal keeper, Dylan Curtis as he secured the win and a shut out.

Morris earned a goal and assist in the contest. Cuningham had one goal and Boyd Bradford had an assist as well, with Curtis registering the shut out.

Up next for the Dinos they will welcome the Richfield Wildcats to Price. Game is set to start at 4.
