
The Lady Dinos came out on top at the Carbon Invitational last weekend in Price. Eleven schools from across the state converged on Carbon High School to compete, and the Lady Dinos earned first place, the Carbon boys finished in fourth.
Carbon scored 151 points finishing just ahead of Uintah’s 122. North Summit, Rich and Richfield made up the rest of the top five.
The Lady Dinos got things going in the 2, 2, 4, 8 Sprint Medley as the ladies team would take first in a time of 4:31.12. They would also strike with another first place finish in the 4×400 relay by turning in a time of 4:24.33.
In distance runs, Rozlyn Stowe claimed two more top finishes in the 400 with a time of 1:03.12 and the 800 turning in a time of 2:25.26, Beverly Lancaster finished in second at 2:42.53.
In the discus Haley Garrish claimed another first place finish for Carbon.
Uintah claimed the top spot on the boy’s side with 136 points, ahead of North Summit’s 111. Union, Carbon and Richfield made up the rest of the top five.
The Carbon boy’s got on the board in the 2, 2, 4, 8 Sprint with a first place finish in the time of 3:53.45.
Easton Humes grabbed a first place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 52:18. And in the high jump it was Traxton Jewkes with a top finish.
Carbon gets back at it on Saturday when they travel to Vernal for the Uintah Invite
