easter

There are many folks in the area that plan on attending Good Friday and Easter Services as part of their annual Easter tradition. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Price Chapel’s Pastor Steve Swinburne to discuss all the details.

“We have services going on Friday, Saturday, Sunday of holy week. So Good Friday which is April 7, we’re going to have set up in our sanctuary from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, so for 12 hours, stop by anytime you want. A Good Friday prayer experience, if you have a Catholic background, kind of similar to Stations of Cross but a little more thematic and you can go through by yourself or with others,” said Pastor Swinburne. This will take place at the Price Chapel which is located at 611 West Price River Drive.

“Then on Holy Saturday which is April 8, we’re doing a silent Saturday Vespers Service, this is a new kind of experiment for us, it’s going to be at 7:00 pm. Its going to be a more theurgic style with scripture, and silence, and prayer and response. I’m excited for that,” said Pastor Swinburne. This is a new event that the church has decided to try this year and hopes that guests will enjoy it.

The weekend’s services will finish up on Easter Sunday, April 9. “Then on Easter Sunday, April 9, we have two worship gatherings, 9:30 am and 11:00 am. The 11:00 am one has our children’s program for infants through fifth grade, so if you have kiddos come to that one. Then we’ll have a free breakfast open in our Fellowship Hall, drop by anytime between 10:00 am and 11:30 am for the breakfast,” explained Pastor Swinburne. The service will feature music, scripture, prayer, entertainment and an Easter message from the pastor.

Individuals who are unable to attend the Good Friday or Easter Sunday Services are welcome to attend regular worship services in person on Sundays at 9:30 am or 11:00 am. Folks are welcome to join in the livestream at 11:00 am if they are unable to attend in person. Price Chapel warmly welcomes people from all walks of life, regardless of where they are on their journey with God.
