
A second place finish for the Lady Spartans and a fourth place for the boys was the order of business for Emery at the North Sevier Invitational last week in Salina. Emery was on the road for one last meet before the week long Spring Break vacation.
North Sevier earned the top spot on the girls side with a dominating 195 points, Emery finished in second with 67. Millard, Providence Hall, and Delta rounded out the top five.
Addy Guymon ran her way to a first place finish in the 1600 meter with a time of 5:47.30, she would also claim second in the 800. Addie Hurst would also claim a first place finish in the 3200 with a time of 12:11.78. Carlie Hurst had a pair of top five finishes with a third place in the 100 hurdles, and a fifth place in the 300 hurdles. Aliya Lester finished fourth in the 400.
The team of Molly Christiansen, Addie and Carlie Hurst and Lester earned a first place in the sprint medley with a time of 4:40.82 and the 4×400 team also claimed a the top spot in a time of 4:34.62.
North Sevier also grabbed the top position on the boys side as well with 115 points, Providence Hall took second with 100. San Juan, Emery and Monticello made up the remainder of the top five.
In the 800, Jack Christiansen crossed the finish line first with a time of 2:05.44, in the 3200 in was Camdon Larsen with a time of 10:30.72 who claimed the top spot, Diilan Larsen grabbed third. Other top five individual performances were Rhett Peterson who claimed third in the high jump, and Matt Olsen also earned a third place finish in the high jump.
A pair of relays gave the Spartans a first and second place finish. In the 4×400, Christainsen along with Porter Hurdsman, Corbin Jensen and Shane Guymon took the top spot in a time of 3:45.86, and in the sprint medley Christiansen, Guymon, Champ Justice and Owen Cordner finished in second.
The Spartans will head back to the track on April 15, when they travel to Richfield.
