Its time once again for another Helper’s First Friday event on June 2 at 5:00 pm and this month’s theme is Sidewalk Chalk & Talk. Owner and operator of Friar Tuck’s Barbershop, Kylee Howell stopped by Castle Country Radio to share all the details with listeners.
“So for June First Friday, I thought I would host, what I have named the Sidewalk Chalk & Talk. Just come out, kind of a social, hang out with your friends and neighbors. I’m going to be putting sidewalk chalk in some buckets, kind of scattered up and down Main Street. I’ve got some tied dyed chalk in there, that was a special request from the mayor, she really wanted to do the, you know a play on the Dark Skies and the glow in the dark sidewalk chalk, so that will be there,” stated Howell. Organizers will have the sidewalk chalk spread out along Main Street for patrons to take some time to spruce up the sidewalks with their own art.
This is a great opportunity for folks to visit the shops and get something to eat for dinner. “It honestly reminds me of a block party. Like I, open both of the doors in the shop, I like to get music going, sometimes I’ll have some finger foods in there and it really is just so much fun to see, you know, who stops by, who’s walking around, oh, I’m going to come down to this shop and see what they’ve got going on and then swing back around. Yea, it’s really just kind of big, good, social hang,” said Howell.
Organizers hope to see everyone from the community attend this family fun event. To learn more about Helper First Fridays visit their Facebook page.
