It’s time once again for another session of Culture Connection Summer Concert Series on Thursday, June 15 at 7:00 pm at the Price City Peace Gardens with the group called Fat In The Fire. Program Coordinator, Ted Hinckley took time to speak over the telephone with Castle Country Radio to share all the concert details.

“So Fat In The Fire really fun group. They’re difficult to box in, there are blue grass elements, there are some Celtic elements, they have a little bit of a jazz flare to them because they like to improvise over changes, and a little old country, you’ll hear a little classic Hank Williams stuff in their set as well. They’re a lot of fun, these guys are seasoned musicians,” stated Hinckley. This four-member band will feature a fiddle, bass, mandolin, guitar and banjo.

“I met them two summers ago, they were playing with a bigger group, and then they kind of broke off and started their own thing. So not as much iTunes stuff, well I understand that they’re just getting out of the studio. So they should have some recordings available soon, they might be able to tell you, that they’re available at the Thursday concert,” said Hinckley. This group has a lot of musical experience and are sure to be very entertaining.

The outdoor summer concerts are a great way to unwind from the hustle and bustle of a busy work week. Spectators are reminded to bring their lawn chairs and blankets as they find a spot to sit and enjoy the band. Remember to invite family members, friends and neighbors out for an entertaining evening at the Price City Peace Garden on Main Street.
