It’s that time of year to eat, drink and dance at the annual Greek Festival on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15 from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. This extraordinary event will take place at the historic Assumption Greek Orthodox Church located at 61 South 200 East in Price.

It’s been a few years since a full festival has been held because of the COVID years, but this year the festival will be in full swing with all the usual activities that people have come to enjoy.  “July 14 and 15, that’s Friday and Saturday, 11:00 am to 11:00 pm on Friday and 11:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday,” said Event Representative, Sherry Vlamakis. This festival features dancers, church tours and lots of food.

Many folks will be able to enjoy the endless Greek food and pastries that have been prepared by the church’s parishioners. “It’s just the same as it always has. We have wonderful people running it and the community volunteering to work the food line. So you go through choose your food and then at the end you pay for it,” said Vlamakis. All of the items are very affordable and delicious.

Guests will also be able to enjoy a platter and desserts which will be located in the church’s basement. “So if you know you like this one specific entrée then you can get that, and then we’ll probably have the pilaf, beans and cookie to go with it, so you don’t have to go through and make the decision and stand in line,” said Vlamakis. Guests can enjoy food items such as kourambiethes, finikia, baklava, koulouakia, Greek bread and much, much more

This year the Greek Fest Annual 5K will kick the festival off on Thursday, July 13, the cost is $20.00 per person. Check-in time will be 7:30 pm at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. For more information contact Carbon Recreation at (435) 636-3702.
