Alfred Scott Anthony, 85, passed away on August 5, 2023 at Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah.

Scott was born on March 26, 1938 at Cisne, Illinois (Wayne County) to Thomas Troy and Neva Robinson Anthony.  Scott was from a huge family, he had nine siblings (five sisters and four brothers) and was the fourth child born and the first son.  At a young age, Scott went to work in the oil fields where he worked alongside his father in order to help support the family.  Because of this line of work, the family moved around a lot due to working in the oil field.

Scott eventually moved to Lander, Wyoming where he attended Lancer Valley High School and met the love of his life, Nathelle Glick.  Scott and Nathelle began dating when she was 14 years old and Scott was 16 years of age.  On January 5, 2021, they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.  On March 11, 2021, Nathelle preceded him in death.  They had three children, Tammy Lynn Anthony (Fleig), Rebecca Anthony and Steven Scott Anthony.  Dad also helped raise his nephew, Mike Glick who was like a son to him.

Scott enjoyed many things during his lifetime.  He enjoyed the waltz, jitterbug, square dancing, singing with Nathelle, trap shooting, archery, league bowling, hunting, camping, fishing, playing cards, especially the card game Hand and Foot.  He played the harmonica, fiddle, banjo, acoustic guitar, melodica, piano and he could also play several musical instruments by ear.  Scott was an excellent cook.  He also enjoyed painting ceramics with Nathelle, crafting small wood projects, making many frames in their home and cooking. They collected cute, funny toys that sang, danced and talked.  Scott always enjoyed starting the toys and showing them to those who came to visit.  He decorated the house from top to bottom every holiday for mom, which took him several days to do.  He had several different types of jobs in his lifetime.  He worked in the oil field, was the assistant manager for many years for Safeway, owned a Texaco and Chevron gas station, and was an assistant property manager of a huge apartment complex in Vacaville, California.

Scott was witty, he had a great sense of humor and loved joking around.  He was soft spoken, kind hearted, easy going, honest, hard worker and caretaker who was willing to help anyone.  Scott helped many people who were down on their luck over the years. He gave them money, let them live with them until they got back on their feet, and lent them tools to help with their projects.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Charles) Fleig, Price, Utah, son, Steven (Jodi) Anthony, Paige, AZ, Mike (Marge) Glick, Vacaville, CA; sister, Martha (Harold) Ward, Sutherlin, OR; grandchildren, Shane Moore, Price, UT, Cody Moore, Salt Lake City, UT, Dusty Moore, Seattle, WA, Steven Anthony, Jr., Vallejo, CA, Lindsey Rodman, Landa, North Dakota, and Joshua Collins, his loving great-grandchildren, 102 nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
