The Emery Spartan golf team headed back to the links on Wednesday as they, along with the rest of the region, traveled to the Carbon Country Club.
Last year’s 3A Champion, the Richfield Wildcats picked up right where they left off taking the top spot. The Spartans finished the day in fourth.
Juab was right behind Richfield with a score of 308, Carbon turned in a 315 for third. Emery shot a 332 to land in fourth and Delta carded a 334 to round out the top five.
Leading the way for the Spartans was Dempsey Toomer with a 78. Joey Leonard ended the day with an 80. Champ Justice and Kade Larsen each shot an 87.
The Spartans along with all of Region 12 will travel to Mount Pleasant on August 15, for the match hosted by North Sanpete.
