The Lady Spartans are still in search of their first win of the season. Traveling to Manti on Tuesday, Emery couldn’t keep up with the Templars offense falling 8-0 and dropping to 0-5 on the season.

Manti is one of the top programs in the state carrying over their talent from last season that had took them all the way to the semi-finals losing to eventual State Champions, Salt Lake Academy.

Manti did all the damage in the first half putting eight goals on the board, and then played solid defense the rest of the game to shutout the Spartans.

Manti sophomore Taylie Mickelsen was an unstoppable force finding the back of the net five times, propelling the Templars to the win.

The Spartans will have another chance on Thursday as they travel to face the North Sanpete Hawks in Mount Pleasant. The Hawks sit at 2-3 overall and 0-3 in Region 12 play.  They will go back on the road on Aug. 29 when they travel to Nephi to take on Juab.

They will be back home on Thursday Aug. 31 to face the Richfield Wildcats.
