The Spartan cross country teams were on the road on Saturday when they traveled to Spanish Fork for the UIAAA Invitational. Over twenty teams from around the state and across all classifications came out and at the end of the day both Spartan teams landed in 16th place in their respective divisions.

Camdon Larsen was the top finisher for the Emery boys turning in a 17th place finish. Dillan Larsen, Hayden Christiansen, Jacob Erickson and Stetson Albrecth were the top five finishers for the Spartans. Kyle Stedman of Mountain View took the top spot with a time of 14:52.8.

Herriman claimed first on the boy’s course followed by Lone Peak, Skyridge , Maple Mountain and Mountain View.

Addie Hurst ended the day in 38th as the top finisher on the girl’s side for Emery. Gentry Christiansen, Skylee Guymon, Carlie Hurst and Melody Lake finished in the top five for the Lady Spartans. Cadence Kasprick claimed the top time for the ladies with 17:53.6.

American Fork finished in first for the girls followed by Lone Peak, Westlake, Mountain View and Herriman.

Emery will be home Wednesday for their meet, start time is 4:00 p.m..
