The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for their August luncheon on Thursday, September 21 at 12:00 pm at Sure Stay Plus Hotel by Best Western at 838 Westwood Boulevard in Price. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Executive Director, Barbie Haeck to get all the details.

This month’s speaker will be USU Eastern’s Associate Vice President & Chief Campus Administrator, Doug Miller. “He’s also a Chamber Board Member, so Doug’s going to come talk to us at the Sure Stay Plus Hotel by Best Western in their Downtown Sports Bar, they have that beautiful patio. So we’ll be eating lunch on that patio, so you’ll need to be 21 or older for this luncheon. But be sure to RSVP by Friday, September 15,” said Haeck. This is a great opportunity to meet the new USU Eastern administrator and get an idea of what he sees in the future for the university.

At each luncheon a business and community spotlight are shared with attendees as Haeck explains, “We’re also going to be highlighting a couple of businesses Carbon Medical Services, Haven from Carbon Medical will be there to talk to us and Jill Jensen, Farm Bureau Financial Services will be there to talk to us, and also ETV News who’s a big supporter of the chamber.” They will each talk about the services they offer the community. The cost to attend the luncheon is $18.00 for members, $25.00 non-members and you must RSVP by Friday, September 15.

The chamber is busily preparing for their upcoming 4th Annual Chamber Golf Tournament set to take place on October 6 and October 7. This year participants will have a choice of either doing a scheduled tee-time on Friday or shot-gun start on Saturday. “So what we did is we have Friday we have scheduled tee-times from 12:00 pm to about 3:30 pm is our last tee-time. Then they turn in their score cards in or when they’re finished. Then on Saturday we do a shot-gun start. So whether the Friday scheduled tee-time works better for you or the Saturday shot-gun start works better for you, we can accommodate,” stated Haeck. The cost to participate is $300.00 per team for chamber members and $400.00 per team for non-members. Players are responsible for their green fees and cart rental. There is still an opportunity for business sponsors to help with the tournament.

If you would like to RSVP for the luncheon or register a team for the golf tournament, please contact the Chamber office at (435) 637-2788 or send an email to cccc@carboncountychamber.net
