The Dinos were back on the field on Friday to face the North Sanpete Hawks in Mont Pleasant. Carbon kept the Hawks in check for most of the first quarter, but in the second, North Sanpete found the end zone three times on their way to handing the Dinos a 38-10 loss.

North Sanpete’s Ty Pringle was dynamic on both sides of the ball, breaking away for a 71-yard touchdown run at the :43 mark of the first quarter, and then again in the second quarter when he returned an interception 28-yards for a score.

Stockton Kennedy returned under center after a couple of games off while healing up from an injury, getting the start. Paxton Falk would come in later leading the Dinos to the only touchdown of the game on a quarterback sneak in the fourth quarter. Luke Brady hit a 38-yard field goal in the third quarter as well.

The loss drops the Dinos to 1-7 overall this season and 0-3 in region play. Carbon also holds the No. 12  spot in the RPI with just a pair of games to go, Friday against Juab on the road, and then home on October 12 (Thursday) against Canyon View.

Canyon View is currently 7-1 overall and is No. 2 in the RPI, and has a huge game coming up Friday against No. 1 Richfield.

Juab, Carbon’s next opponent, was runner-up last season but is rebuilding this year. They hold a 4-4 record and are the No. 6 team in 3A.
