All of Region 12 made the trip to the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield, for the final region tournament of the season. Juab finished the day in first place, Carbon landed in second, and host Richfield finished in third. Emery ended the day in sixth.
Juab carded a 301 followed by Carbon with a 304. Richfield turned in a 307 and Delta and Manti rounded out the top five.
On the individual side, Dylan Stubbs of Richfield had the low round with a 69. Weston Bosh from Juab had a 71, and Kay Kauner also of Juab shot a 73. Carbon’s Dayton King shot a 74 and Jack Hedin shot a 75.
Carbon for their second-place finish had four of the best individual performances of the season. King led the way for the Dinos shooting a 74. Hedin was close behind with a 75. Kyler Clark shot a 77 and Cole Callahan rounded out the top four with a 78.
For the Spartans Alex Hansen had the low round with an 80. Joey Leonard turned in an 85, Turner Stoker shot an 88, and Champ Justice and Dempsey Toomer tied with an 89.
King was also honored for the low score over the entire regular season for shooting a 594. To be in consideration a golfer had to golf in every tournament, and then had their highest round thrown out. Pace Mullen of Richfield finished in second shooting a 596 and Dylan Stubbs, also of Richfield, received third place with a 602.
Juab also claimed the region crown beating out Richfield by seven strokes. Carbon finished the regular season in third followed by Delta and Emery to round out the top five.
Next week will be the State Championships at the Meadowbrook Golf Course.
