The Castle Country Christmas Tree Regalia kicks off on November 9 with Friday Night Stroll Events on Main Street and they will run through till Dec. 1. Event Representative, Connie Hamilton spoke over the telephone with Castle Country Radio to share all the details.
“We have the Friday Night Stroll events that take place every Friday from now until Dec. 2 and those stroll events are for families to come and view all of the trees,” stated Hamilton. There are fun activities scheduled every Friday evening for families to enjoy. The schedule is as follows:
Nov. 10 Meet the Grinch
Nov. 17 Tree Lighting Party
Nov. 24 Black Friday Special
Nov. 30 & Dec. 1 Visit with Santa
The bidding process will be done online as Hamilton explains, “The QR code is printed on the plaque, which is located by each tree and it also will be on the program, that you can pick up at the store. One will be provided in a shopping bag but you can also just grab one, if you would like.” Those programs will be available at the businesses as well as at the Santa’s Gift Shoppe located in the old Sears Building at 33 North Carbon Avenue.
There’s a slight change in the starting bids this year, Hamilton explains, “We upped the minimum bid this year to $150.00 is the minimum bid, that’s going to be the starting bid, and then it will go in $20.00 increments. Once again, the proceeds from these trees and from the shoppe are going to the Carbon and Emery Caring for Kids programs, and Carbon and Emery County Food Banks.” Organizers wanted to focus on food insecurity in our local area.
There are 60 Christmas trees on display throughout the businesses on Main Street so feel free to visit these stores during their regular business hours. “Seriously, every tree has a story behind it, and a theme, and we’re excited to have that many trees once again up for auction. Once again, you can view the trees in person if you would like but going in the shops,” said Hamilton.
