
With the Christmas break upon us, we also see a lull in high school sports so we will look at Carbon Dino basketball today in our mid year review.
Let’s start with the girl’s team who have worked their way to a 7-4 overall record, landing themselves in the No. 4 spot in the latest RPI. The Lady Dinos also have a perfect 2-0 record in Region 12 play.
Senior Amiah Timothy leads the way in scoring averaging 20.4 points per game with 50% shooting from the field to go with her 5.7 assists per game and 4 steals per contest.
Madi Orth is adding 13.5 points per game adding 7.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game as well, and Kylan Sorenson has been scoring 10.1 ppg while averaging 6.3 rebounds and 2.9 steals.
Coming off their region road win over Delta on December 9, they will be back at it, on the road this time in another region tilt with Juab Thursday December 28.
The Carbon Dino boy’s team is sitting at 4-5 overall and holds the No. 10 spot in the latest RPI. They have yet to win a Region 12 contest with a record of 0-2 and are coming off a 77-61 loss to Juab on December 20.
Zeke Wilson is leading the Dinos, averaging just under 13 points per game to go with two assists per game as well.
Kahner Raby is averaging 10 ppg to go with his 7.4 rebounds and Ryker Butler is adding 8.9 ppg shooting 72% from the field and bringing down 6.7 rebounds per game.
The Dinos will be back on the floor next week January 3, when they will welcome Delta to Price.
