Daniel Andrew Vigil, age 68, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2023.

He was born to Fernando F. and Dulce Munoz Vigil on January 19, 1955 in Dragerton, Utah. He was one of 12 siblings. He was a longtime resident of Sunnyside and was told many times that we could never get him out of the canyon; it was his home.

Danny married his one true love, Toni Heath, and they were blessed with two children, Easton and Hailee. His family was the center of his universe. Later in life he welcomed three grandchildren, GiAnna, Corbin and Brooks, who idolized their Papa.

He loved to spend time in his shop building toys for the grandkids and making knives for anyone who crossed his path. Danny enjoyed exploring in the mountains and desert. He always wanted to go for a ride. He loved to fish with his family and friends, but only if you could go at the “crack of noon.”

Danny had a tough, hard-ass exterior, but those who knew him, knew he had a heart of gold and would always bend over backwards to lend a hand. He enjoyed the simple things, like taking a ride up the canyon with a cold beer or watching his favorite team, the Utah Jazz.

He is survived by his son, Easton Daniel (Jessie); daughter, Hailee Jill (Rorey); grandchildren, GiAnna, Corbin and Brooks; siblings, Margaret Garcia (Robert, deceased), Eleanor Ortez, Mary Jane Wallace (David, deceased), William and Jeana Vigil, Robert and Annette Vigil, Vivian and Richard Garcia, Becky and Stan Coulter, Tom Vigil (Lori), Adeline Wilson (Gene, deceased), David Vigil, Alice and Mike Hill; in-laws, Carol Ann and Brett Harvey, Barbara and Phillip Jaramillo, Gary and Mary Jo Heath, Jack (deceased) and Karen Heath, Mike (deceased) and Margaret Heath.

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Toni Vigil; parents, Fernando and Dulce Vigil; in-laws, Genieve and Lloyd Heath.

A celebration of life will be held on January 6, 2024, 12:00 noon, at the Sunnyside Union Hall (705 Market Street, Sunnyside, Utah). In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to a charity of your choice. Please come and have a cold beer because “it is what it is.”

Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Danny online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
