Ilse Scheffler, of Wellington, UT passed away on December 25, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born June 6, 1935 in Kohlhof, Germany to Albrecht and Franziska Thomann Limbach. Since 1970, Ilse has called Utah her home. She was known as a caretaker, not only taking care of her animals on her hobby farm with her husband in their early years in Ferron, but also taking care of her family, her dogs and cats that gave her so much joy, as well as her gardens.   More often than not weather permitting, you could find her either planting flowers, watering plants, pulling weeds, manicuring her meticulous lawn, as well as her uncanny ability to grow and maintain her beautiful rose bushes.

Ilse was also the ‘handyman’ when it came to projects around her house and property. More often than not if something was broken, needed a touchup, or an article of clothing needed mending she always found a way to fix it herself with her tools, skill and creativity. But more than anything, her love for her family shined through in everything that she did.

When any major holiday came around the neighborhood was always aware of her house whether it was her full size candy bars and homemade stuffed scarecrow decoration for Halloween, or her huge assortment of home baked German cookies and treats.  If she could catch him in time, even the garbage truck driver would get his own goody plate for Christmas.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Randall; son-in-law, Delbert Randall; grandson, Max (Teri) Thatcher; two great- grandsons, Connor and Robert; brother, Fridolin Limbach.

Preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, Max Scheffler; two sisters, Renate Streit (Hans), Anneliese Ruffing (Heini).

Ilse will be greatly missed by her family and those that knew her well.

Private services are being planned for a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are welcome to share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to the charity of your choice.
