Clyde Melrose Luke, age 91, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 28, 2023 in Ferron, Utah.

Clyde was born on January 9, 1932 in Orangeville, Utah to Melrose C. and Sylva Jewkes Luke. He attended South Emery High School and married his high school sweetheart Doris Carol Olsen in the Manti Temple on May 22, 1951. Doris preceded Clyde in death on September 22, 2013.

Clyde and Doris were the parents of three children: Karen (deceased) (Kevin) Tuttle of Orangeville, Roger Clyde Luke (deceased), and Eric Allen (Janalee) Luke of Ferron. Their posterity includes eight grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Clyde worked for Orangeville City managing the new water treatment plant and worked as an appliance repairman for Sears before gaining employment at Emery Telephone where he worked for 31 years until his retirement in 1993.

Clyde was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in several callings. He enjoyed the many years that he and Doris served as ordinance workers in the Manti Temple. He was passionate about family history work and spent countless hours visiting distant relatives and cemeteries and gathering information about his and Doris’s ancestors.

Clyde loved to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and other activities from the time they were in t-ball through high school. He most often had his video camera in hand recording the events. His family was his greatest joy and you could always count on him for unconditional love and support.

Clyde is survived by his son, Eric (Janalee) Luke; son-in-law, Kevin (Pam) Tuttle; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; brother, Marvin Luke; and sister, Talma Peacock.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; daughter, Karen Tuttle; son, Roger Luke; grandson, Trever Tuttle; great-grandchildren, Taryn Tuttle, Daxton Tuttle and Grayson Tuttle; and sister, Virginia Huntington.
