Kathaleen Davis Rowley, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on December 29, 2023.

Kathaleen was born on September 14, 1935 in Orangeville, Utah to William Henry and Berniece Blackburn Davis. Kathaleen married the love of her life, Neal Vernell Rowley on December 8, 1955 in the Manti Temple. They spent 68 years together.

Kathaleen’s favorite job was that of a homemaker. She was a hard worker. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothes for her family. She loved to crochet and made dishcloths, dishrags, doll furniture, doll clothes, afghans, and ornaments. Kathaleen was a very talented quilter. Quilting frames were a permanent fixture in her living room and there was always a quilt on them. Kathaleen loved to cook and bake. She made the most delicious food. She had a drawer full of cookbooks and recipe box holders. She was an excellent gardener, and canned all her produce from her garden. She managed the cafeteria at Canyon View Junior High for 12 years.

Kathaleen had a great passion for family history. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Emery County Historical Society. She spent countless hours researching and working on her own family history. She was proud of her heritage and her hometown. She spoke often about her family connections and her ancestors. She served as a Family History Specialist for many years for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she loved helping others research.

Kathaleen’s greatest joy was her family. She was everyone’s biggest supporter and listening ear. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. This love extended to all her nieces, nephews, sister, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, and her friends. She was a loyal friend and cultivated life long friendships that she cherished. Her family and friends brought her so much joy.

Kathaleen is survived by her three children, Karen Mikkelson of Cottonwood Heights, Chris (Virginia) Rowley of Huntington, and Lisa (Paul) Pickering of West Jordon; brother, Dale Davis of Riverton; and 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Neal Vernell Rowley; her parents, William Henry and Berniece Blackburn Davis; her siblings, Ronald Davis, Earl Davis, and Dixie Swasey; and a granddaughter, ChrisAnn Rowley.

Funeral service, Friday, January 5, 2024, 11:00 a.m., Huntington Stake Center (240 North Main Street) in Huntington. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. and on Friday morning from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the Stake Center. Interment, Huntington City Cemetery.
