
The Emery Swim team was back in the pool, taking part in the Red Rocks Invitational in St. George. The Emery boys finished the weekend in seventh place and the Lady Spartans ended in eleventh.
The Spartans hadn’t been in the pool for a meet since December 19 and were eager to get back at it.
Wasatch earned the top spot in the boy’s division followed by Crimson Cliffs in second. Canyon View, Cedar City, and Desert Hills made up the top five.
The Spartans placed in the top ten in two relays. In the 200 free Tyler Frandsen, Parker Jensen, Adam Morris, and Will Stilson earned a fifth-place, and the same squad finished in ninth in the 200 medley.
Individually Morris claimed a seventh-place finish in the 50 free and Jensen an eighth-place in the 100-yard breast stroke.
It was Wasatch claiming first on the girl’s side of the pool as well, followed by Cedar City in second. Provo, Desert Hills, and Carbon rounded out the top five.
For the Lady Spartans, the team of Jessie Childs, Melody Lake, Illyria Mason, and Purity Mason finished the 200 medley relay in ninth and the 200 free in tenth place. Lake also took fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The Spartans are back at it on Tuesday when they will travel to Payson.
