The Carbon boy’s wrestling team welcomed in North Sevier to celebrate “Senior Night”. The Dinos protected their home mat and walked away with a 41-30 win.
Carbon wrestling is wrapping up the season with just three meets left until divisionals on February 2 and 3, at Emery High School.
Senior Trevor Jones got things started for the Dinos earning the win at 120 pounds by major decision, and in the 132-pound class, senior Brax Tapia earned his win by major decision as well. Jack Vigor (144), Cole Hinkley (165), and Will Hinkley (215) all won their matches by forfeit. Senior Jonathan Jewkes earned the win by pin in his match at 165 pounds. Gavin Fausett at 190 claimed victory in his match by pin and at 285 pounds Dax Mower walked away with a win by decision.
Carbon travels to Emery on Thursday to take on the Spartans. Next week the team will host one last home meet as they welcome in the Delta Rabbits on Wednesday, Jan. 24, before wrapping up the regular season on Thursday, Jan. 25 at Orem.
