013-10

Carbon Boy’s basketball found themselves on the road for a rare Thursday night game in Delta. The Dinos went to work quickly in the contest jumping to a lead in the first quarter and carrying it throughout taking the 66-57 win over the Rabbits.

Due to a scheduling conflict, Delta requested that the game be played on Thursday instead of the usual Friday, which for the Dinos meant two road trips in two days, coming off the loss at Juab on Wednesday and then turning around and traveling back to Delta the next day.

Carbon came out in the first quarter putting up 13 while holding the home squad to just four. Delta would come out in the second throwing 22 on the scoreboard and held the Dinos to 14 cutting the Dino lead to 27-26 at halftime.

In the third it was Carbon’s turn putting up 22, holding the Rabbits to 9, and putting some distance between the two teams closing out the third quarter with a 49-35 lead. In the final eight minutes, neither team was going down without a fight going back and forth and the Dinos found a way to hold on taking the 66-57 win.

Zeke Wilson led the way for the Dinos with 17. Kahner Raby, who has been coming on of late added 15 and Ryker Butler scored 13 in the victory.

The win moves the Dinos to 8-10 overall with a 4-6 mark in region play, they currently sit in the No. 10 spot in the RPI.

Carbon will get the rare Friday night off and then head back out on the road next Wednesday when they will be at No. 5 Richfield.

The broadcast will begin at 6:30 with the Landon’s Diesel Service Pre-game show on KRPX 95.3 The Peak, “Where the Dinos Play”, as well as streaming on castlecountryradio.com, and available on the Castle Country Radio app.

Game time will follow at 7:00 p.m..
