The Lady Dinos regular season came to an end on Thursday night when the Canyon View Falcons came to town, on Carbon’s “Senior Night”. The Dinos were looking to bounce back after their loss the other night and closed out the regular season on a high note handing the Falcons a 53-41 loss.

On Thursday night the Lady Dinos celebrated their three seniors.  Madi Orth, Amiah Timothy, and Kylan Sorenson are the big three for Carbon. Timothy has averaged 19.1 points per game, Orth 13.6, and Sorenson 9.2.

The Dinos were looking to get back in the win column after their loss against the Emery Spartans on Tuesday night.

The contest with the Falcons started quietly with both teams feeling each other out with no team taking over in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Carbon took control putting on the clamps defensively allowing just six points in the quarter, and adding 15 to push the halftime score to 25-18.

The third quarter was a little carryover from the second with the Lady Dinos holding the Falcons to 10 and scoring 19 more, and then making sure they held on in the fourth to take the 53-41 win.

Sorenson led the way for the Dinos with 19 points, grabbing six rebounds and a pair of assists. Orth added 12 grabbing 15 boards and a pair of blocks, and Timothy scored nine with five rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

The win means the Dinos close out the regular season at 17-6 overall and 12-2 in region play.
