Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, Priscilla Boyack Westenskow, 86, passed away February 26, 2024 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
Sibby was born September 25, 1937 in Helper, Utah to Franklin and Elda Ames Boyack. On February 4, 1956, she married John Andrew Westenskow, Sr., in Price, Utah and their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on December 19, 1964. “Big John” preceded her in death on January 12, 2018.
Sibby was the force that pulled and kept generations of the family together. She always made sure everyone was invited and welcomed to her home and that they had a place to stay. Her home brimmed with precious objects, each with a memory of a relative or friend which she loved to share. Priscilla thoroughly enjoyed chatting with loved ones and making you feel like what you were saying was the most important thing in the world. Sibby always had a story to share.
Like biblical Ruth, the daughter of Naomi, she was a loyal friend. If you needed her or she could see you were in need, she was there. If money was lacking, she gave whatever she had. If work was to be done, she wasn’t shy about it. Priscilla was always right there with gloves and supplies, usually on her knees getting the job done. She was kind and generous and had an appreciation for those struggling or in need. Her own comfort and convenience were never a consideration. She made sure, that others always came first.
Priscilla was a tireless worker who worked for 30 years for John Howa & Sons. She came to love John and the entire family, as they did her. One of her favorite hobbies was decorating and home improvement. Priscilla discovered ceramic tiles and before long, if it wasn’t moving, it had a new beautiful ceramic tiled finish. Her yard was one of her favorite places. She loved her trees, flowers and especially her prized rose bushes with bright pink tea scented blossoms.
Sibby loved the cabin at Scofield. Although she loved the lake, mountains, wildlife and picturesque towns of Scofield and Clear Creek, what gave her the most joy, was that it was a gathering place for family and friends to enjoy. Priscilla will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Priscilla is survived by her sons, John Jr. (Sheri) Westenskow, Logan, Franklin Westenskow (Sylvia Yazzie), Price; sister, Joan Piercy, Orem; brother, Pat (Mary) Boyack, Helper; grandchildren, Amber (Jason) Pollan, Texas, Jaimi (Brandon) Erwin, Price, Adam (Connie) Westenskow, Logan, and Amy (Janessa) Huppi, Ogden; seven great-grandchildren, Andrue, Alena, Sylvian, Johnna, Nesston, Connor and Emma; sisters-in-law, Jean Boyack, Helper and Sherry Williams, Castle Dale.
