
The Carbon Dino track and field squad welcomed teams from across the state for one of the first meets of the season, the Farm Bureau Invitational on Saturday. A total of 20 teams on both the boys and the girl’s sides competed, and the Lady Dinos earned a fourth-place finish while the boys claimed fifth.
For the ladies, North Sevier and Emery tied for the top spot with 87. Union was right behind with 76, Carbon scored 75.66 and Manti rounded out the top five at 71.
Rozlyn Stowe claimed a pair of first-place finishes in two distance runs. In the 800 she would turn in a time of 2:18.61, Sophie Taylor earned fourth. In the 1600, Stowe earned another first place at 5:17.10.
In the 3200, Ellie Hanson earned a second-place finish, behind Emery’s Addie Hurst. Ada Bradford ended the race in third. Gianna White took fifth in the 400.
The Lady Dinos earned a first-place finish in the sprint relay with a time of 4:22.28. They also claimed second in the 4×100 and third in the 4×400.
Juab ran away from the pack literally taking first on the boy’s side with a score of 132, Union landed in second with 99. Uintah, Emery, and Carbon rounded out the top five.
Evan Criddle earned the lone first-place finish for the boys in the 800, turning in a time of 2:06.78. Easton Humes finished eight behind him in second. Humes also took second in the 400, and Criddle finished third in the 1600.
Carbon also claimed two fifth-place finishes in the 4×100 relay and the 4×400.
The Dinos will travel to Delta on Wednesday.
