The Lady Spartans moved to 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon when they traveled to Richfield to face the Wildcats. Emery hit their stride in the middle innings to take the 10-2 win, improving their Region 12 record to 3-0.

Emery was riding a four-game win streak and lost their first game of the season to Bonneville at the St. George tournament over the weekend.

Emery took the lead in the first inning when, with a pair of outs Alexis Ungerman came up to the plate swinging at the first pitch as Kali Jensen stole second and Tailyn Minchey would score, Ungerman would single and while reaching first on an error, Jensen would come home. The Wildcats would come back in the bottom half of the inning to cut the Spartan lead to 5-3.

The Lady Spartans added three more runs in the top of the fifth and another in the top of the sixth, pushing the score to 10-3. The Wildcats would attempt a comeback in the bottom of the sixth and the seventh, but couldn’t cut the deficit, and Emery took the 10-6 win.

Katelyn Nielson collected two hits, earned two RBIs, and scored a pair of runs. Jensen had a pair of hits, one RBI, and two runs scored.

Rheagan Rhoten got the complete game win giving up six runs, four earned, on 11 hits, and striking out six.

Emery will get back on the field today when Duchesne comes to Castle Dale. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m..
