006-6

The Dinos were on the pitch on Friday for a Region 12 match-up against the Canyon View Falcons. Carbon put up one goal in each half and held the Falcons off the board to earn the 2-0 shutout and move their record to 6-1 this season.

Carbon holds an identical overall and Region 12 mark, and we will see where that will land them when the initial RPI comes out on Thursday from the Utah High School Activities Association.

Making the long trip to Cedar City didn’t slow the Dinos down as they came out in the first half working their way through the Falcons and finding the back of the net once in the first half, taking a 1-0 lead.

In the second half. Carbon looked to earn another region win as they were able to add another goal to the board. And Cannon Mortensen was able to earn the shutout between the pipes over Canyon View helping the Dinos cruise to a 2-0 win.

Drake Chappell and Tyler Morris were all the offense that Carbon needed in the win, with each scoring one goal.

The Dinos get back to it on Wednesday when they will travel to Mount Pleasant to face North Sanpete. When these two teams met up in the season’s opening game in Price, Carbon came away with the 4-1 win.

The Dinos close out the week on Friday when the Juab Wasps come to Price, game time is set for 4:00 p.m..
