The Lady Spartans were on the Price course to participate in the region match hosted by Carbon High. The Spartans would claim fourth place with a 434, and Richfield earned top marks with 352.

The weather has not been a friend to girl’s golf this season. The Carbon match was scheduled to be the fifth match of the season however, due to the elements, the match at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course marked just the second time the team has competed this season.

Behind Richfield, Juab landed in second with 375. Manti, Emery, and North Sanpete comprised the remaining top five. Richfield’s Shelby Gardner had the low overall round at 82.

Cheyenne Bingham had the low round for the Lady Spartans with a 102, and Brandee Larceval shot a 108. Regan Jackson had a 109, and Clair Lindsey had a 115.

Next up for the Lady Spartans is the match at Millsite, a home match for Emery. Coach Kasey Edgehouse was a guest recently on KOAL’s Drive Time Sports and was asked what the toughest course in Region 12 is.

“For us honestly it’s probably Millsite. The four teams that have just come into our region, they’ll really struggle, especially because they haven’t come over and played a practice round. This will be their biggest challenge of the year.”

Throughout the remainder of the season, there will be two matches a week.

On April 11 the region comes to Millsite. Then the following week they will travel to Richfield on Monday, April 15, and then Cedar City to take on Canyon View on April 17.

The match next Thursday is set to start at 10:00 a.m..
