On Tuesday the Carbon Dino baseball squad traveled to Manti to face the Templars and were handed an 11-8 loss. The Dinos welcomed the Templars to Price on Friday and earned the 5-4 win.
The Dinos have compiled an 11-5 overall record and sit at 6-2 in Region 12 play. Carbon is also sitting in the No. 4 spot in the latest RPI.
The Templars were the first to get on the board putting up a single run in the second. Carbon got things going in the fourth with a Michael Vigil double to right driving in Degan Richards to tie the score at 1-1.
Two innings later in the bottom of the sixth and the score at 3-1 and after a Manti pitching change, Logan Madrigal sent a single to center, driving in Tyrus Madsen and Richards moving the score to 5-1 and setting the stage for an interesting seventh.
Manti came out in the inning collecting four hits and putting three runs on the board to get it within one before Jaxon Ingram would get the Templars to ground out to first ending the game and giving the Dinos the 5-4 win.
Madsen collected three hits and one run scored for Carbon. Madrigal collected a hit and a pair of RBIs. Vigil had one hit, an RBI and a run scored, and Diego Vega collected a hit and RBI in the win.
Maizen Prichard had a great day on the mound going six innings earning the win giving up no hits one run and striking out 14. Ingram came in putting in one inning of work surrendering four hits, three earned runs, and striking out one.
Next up for the Dinos, they will be on the road to face the Juab Wasps.
