The final Utah High School Activities Association’s RPI rankings for 3A girls’ softball were announced Wednesday morning, setting the stage for the State Championship Tournament, which will begin Saturday.

The Emery Lady Spartans claimed the No. 1 seed after finishing with 17-6 overall record on the season. Fellow Region 12 school North Sanpete will be the No. 2 seed. South Summit will enter as the No. 3 seed, followed by Morgan at No. 4

Each of the 19 teams in the classification now have their ranking for the season-ending tournament. Seeds 1-through-4 earned the right to play host to a pod for the opening rounds, meaning they will host either three or four other schools.

(South Summit High School)

The field of 19 will be cut to 12 by the end of the day Saturday. The remaining teams will travel to Spanish Fork for the final three days of the double-elimination tournament on May 9, 10 and 11.
