Stephen “Steve” Duane Bradshaw, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Steve was born on June 27, 1953 to Vernon Bradshaw and Norean Huff Bradshaw. Steve was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah and spent a lot of time on his grandparent’s farm in Chester, Utah. He attended schools in Chester, Mt. Pleasant, and Kearns, Utah.
Steve was the oldest of six siblings; Steve was a Bradshaw, Mike, Sonya, Shelly, Mark, and Monica were “Westbrook’s.”
When Steve was 18 years old, he joined the Marines and served for four years. He spent a lot of his time in Okinawa, Japan. He was Honorably Discharged. Following his time in the service, he came back to Utah and decided to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Fort Lauderdale-Pensacola Mission. He had a deep, abiding love for his Savior, Jesus Christ and testified of him often.
After he returned home from his mission, he married Julie Homer and they had three children, Sariah, Stephanie, and Stephen, Jr. They later divorced on October 14, 1988.
Steve then met Hilary Wetton. They dated for three weeks and decided to get married. On October 14, 1989 they were married in the living room of Annadell Manor in Sacramento, California where Hilary worked. Bishop Goldsmith performed the wedding for them and Vernon, (Steve’s Dad) gave Hilary “away.”
In the beginning, Steve and Hilary lived in Sacramento, California. In 2005, they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2021, they bought a home in Wellington, Utah where they were residing at the time of Steve’s passing. Unfortunately, both Steve and Hilary began having unforeseen health problems while in Wellington and Steve’s heart just wasn’t strong like it needed to be. Steve passed away while enroute to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah.
Because Steve was such a kind and helpful man with a great sense of humor and a fantastic ability to “tell stories,” he was loved by many.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 34 ½ years, Hilary; his two daughters, Sariah and Stephanie; his son, Stephen, Jr.; and three grandchildren round out the “immediate” family tree, Farrah, Atasha, and J.J. He is also survived by a sister, Sonya; a brother, Mark; and another sister, Monica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Norean; a sister, Shelly; and a brother, Micheal. Also preceding him in death were his in-laws, Leonard and Emily Wetton.
Hilary is very grateful for the helping hands to help her at this time.
SERVICES ARE PENDING AT THIS TIME. Interment will take place in the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Steve online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
